Lisa Olivia Munn was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kimberly Schmid lived in Vietnam with Chinese ancestry while Winston Barrett Munn's clan has origins deep within the American South. Olivia was only 2 when her parents divorced. Her family consisted of her stepfather as well as her mother who was a United States Air Force member. They left Oklahoma and lived in various locations, however she lived the majority of her life in Tokyo. At this point she performed in several local theatre productions and later began modeling within the Japanese fashion business. Olivia relocated into Los Angeles when her family eventually came back home to her home in the United States to follow her dream to be an actress. After a few minor roles on TV series that featured Hawaii lense (such as Beyond the Break), she was cast in the show Mily Acuna, and was offered Rob Schneider's receptionist in Big Stan. She is the host of G4's podcasts "The Daily Nut" along with "Formula D". Her passion for surfing is something she's continued after the TV show Beyond the Break. Additionally, she has earned a black belt for taekwondo. She was only two when her mother married again and this time, with the same US Air Force member. In spite of the fact that family members moved around often, the mother of her child raised her primarily in Tokyo in Japan, where she stayed with the military. She completed her journalism studies in the University of Oklahoma and also minored Japanese as well as dramatic arts and acting.
