Luciana was brought up in Rome with her grandparents - Luciana's dad was Manlio Paoluzzi, an Italian army officer and her maternal grandmother was Maria Rota Paoluzzi who was the one of Benito's lovers. Her siblings aren't known. She attended a local high school. Upon matriculating in 1955 she studied navy engineering at the Scientific Academy of Milan - Luciana was the sole female in her class. Within two years she began her modelling career. Shortly after that she got a chance to act in Three Coins in the Fountain during a trip to Rome visiting a friend of her father. Brett Halsey is an actress who became her husband at first. In the years following their marriage they produced an ensemble film called Return to the Peyton Palace. Luciana received custody of the children following the divorce. They welcomed a baby boy named Charles who was born in June of 1961. Luciana was involved in a romantic relationship with Tony Athony between 1962 until the year 1970. He was an actor and producer who was inspired to create and write the Spaghetti Western hybrid based on her character in the film as Green Slime.
